FLOWER: The Moment a Tulip Blooms

A tulip begins to open. Its compact silhouette loosens, the petals curve outward, and light reaches surfaces that were hidden a moment before.

This transition inspired MonBlari’s FLOWER Collection. Designed by Hui Wang, the collection brings the unfolding shape of a tulip into bathroom design through curved edges, sculptural volumes, and carefully balanced proportions.

Across bathtubs and sinks, the botanical reference appears in the outline of each piece. Raised edges suggest opening petals, while simpler forms beneath them give the design a sense of balance. Resin and solid surface offer two distinct material expressions of this shared idea.

From Petal to Form

The tulip provides a starting point for exploring how a familiar shape can become something functional.

In FLOWER, petal-like curves meet the order of rounded volumes and geometric bases. A sink’s gently rising edge gives its bowl a distinctive profile. On a freestanding piece, the quieter base allows the upper form to become the focal point.

The bathtub explores these curves at a larger scale. Its changing rim creates a silhouette that reads differently from above and from the side. Viewed across the room, the outline feels sculptural; closer up, the transitions between surfaces become more apparent.

These details give FLOWER its identity without requiring additional ornament. The form itself carries the story.

A Different View from Every Angle

FLOWER invites a closer look.

As you move around a piece, its curves overlap in different ways. An edge that stands out from one position may become part of a continuous outline from another. The relationship between the interior bowl and the outer surface shifts with the viewing angle.

Daylight adds to this effect. It brings some curves into focus while allowing others to fall into shadow. On translucent resin pieces, light also passes through the material, revealing depth within the form.

The experience changes with the room, the light, and the position of the viewer. This gives the collection a sense of movement even when the object itself remains still.

Two Materials, Different Expressions

The FLOWER Collection includes both resin and solid surface designs. Each material brings a different visual character to the collection, with available options depending on the individual model.

Resin

In translucent resin versions, color has a visible depth. Light passing through the body helps reveal curved edges and overlapping surfaces, allowing the same piece to appear different against a bright window or a darker background.

This makes placement part of the visual experience. The surrounding light and colors influence how the material is seen, giving these pieces a particularly expressive presence.

Transparency and color vary by model, so the selected finish should always be considered alongside the room where it will be installed.

Solid Surface

Solid surface versions draw attention to the outline and continuity of the form. Their opaque appearance gives the curves a sculptural presence, making the transition from one surface to another easy to read.

White places emphasis on light and shadow, while colored finishes introduce another way to define the shape. The effect remains closely connected to the collection’s proportions and petal-like edges.

Together, the two materials offer different ways to experience FLOWER: the depth of translucent resin and the defined surfaces of solid surface.

Color That Reveals the Shape

Color plays an active role in the collection.

Soft green and blush pink echo the botanical inspiration, while white emphasizes the contours. Deeper tones in translucent resin create a different effect, drawing attention to the volume within the piece.

Where contrasting colors meet, a curved edge becomes more visible. Where light passes through resin, the color changes in intensity across the form.

The Designer Behind FLOWER

Hui Wang’s design begins with an observation of nature and develops it through geometry.

For FLOWER, the opening tulip becomes a study in proportion: how far an edge rises, how a curve turns, and how an expressive upper form meets a simpler base. These relationships connect the collection’s different pieces.

The resulting forms retain the softness of their inspiration while giving it a clear architectural presence within the bathroom.

Bringing FLOWER into the Bathroom

A FLOWER piece can serve as a focal point or become part of a coordinated setting.

A countertop sink introduces a curved outline above a simple vanity. A freestanding sink gives the form space to be seen from several angles. A bathtub creates a larger composition, with its rim and body responding to the light around it.
